2024 Vlakte Marathon

The Vlakte Marathon 2024 in Witsand saw exciting competition across its various races. The event, held on November 23, featured a 42.2 km marathon, 21.1 km half-marathon, 10.4 km race, and a 5 km fun run. Starting points included Heidelberg High School and Zoutpan Farm, with all races finishing at Witsand Beach.

Prize-giving recognized top performers, with gold medals awarded to the marathon and half-marathon winners. Silver medals went to those achieving sub-3:15 (marathon) and sub-1:30 (half-marathon) times, while bronze medals were given to all finishers within the cut-off times. Notable participants included club athletes competing for qualifying times for events like the Comrades Marathon.
